The English Department is situated within our new, state-of-the-art classrooms. The college offers successful GCSE and A Level courses in both English Language and English Literature as distinct specialist subjects. Our Department participates in a wide range of enrichment activities, encouraging students to take part in 'young writers' competitions, Journalism Internships, Book Club, and the Feminist Society.

We maintain valuable partnerships with English Departments at prominent universities and local schools, and we organize guest lectures from subject experts, including renowned linguist Professor David Crystal. Additionally, we host various career talks covering fields such as BBC broadcast journalism and speech and language therapy.

This position may appeal to seasoned schoolteachers or professionals from a further education background. We also encourage applications from newly qualified teachers and those taking their first steps into the teaching profession, provided they can showcase the required skills and enthusiasm for this role.

Salary: Teacher PT 1-9 (£33,465 - £51,714), suitable for Early Career Teaching, based on qualifications and experience.
