Teacher – EYFS (KG – 4-5 yr olds) (JobRef#A157-26-27)
The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional, child-centered education that meets the needs of all students in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), following the UK Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, the Development Matters guidance, and the Cayman Islands Early Years Inspection Framework (2024).
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Delivering a diverse, balanced, inquiry-based, and customized EYFS curriculum.
- Collaborating closely with the Early Years Team to develop long, medium, and short-term plans across all subjects.
- Partnering with parallel class teachers, subject specialists, and learning support staff.
- Providing rich child-initiated and adult-initiated learning experiences through continuous provision, teacher-led collaborative inquiry, and targeted instruction to support, meet, and challenge the needs of all learners.
- Designing and maintaining engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments that promote curiosity, independence, and exploration.
- Conducting ongoing, thorough assessments in line with the Development Matters framework and adhering to school policies and EYFS baselines.
- Keeping accurate records of students’ progress and achievements, using assessment data to inform teaching practices.
- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Creating and sustaining an engaging and supportive educational atmosphere.
- Participating in various extracurricular activities, including leading clubs.
- Upholding and fully supporting the Christian ethos of the school.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field along with an internationally recognized teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, Bachelor of Education, or H.Dip.Ed.
- A minimum of three years of recent experience teaching a British-based curriculum.
- Up-to-date knowledge and experience in teaching the revised Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 (EYFS) and the ability to model and facilitate the Development Matters framework.
- Familiarity with the Cayman Islands Early Years Inspection Framework (2024).
- Exceptional classroom practice, with a passion for fostering student learning through creative and innovative methods.
- Proven experience in providing personalized learning opportunities to support, meet, and challenge the needs of all learners is essential.
