Education Skills and Training:
· Must possess a Bachelor of Education Degree from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education
· Must hold a valid Saskatchewan Professional “A” Teaching Certificate and be registered with the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board
· Advanced training in special education, including certification or progress towards certification with defined timelines, or other relevant advanced training is highly desirable
· Demonstrated teaching experience with students who have complex needs, including behavior management and/or special education in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings
· Thorough understanding of the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and Ministry initiatives
· Knowledge of the roles played by other Human Service Agencies in supporting learning and managing complex behaviors
· Familiarity with the personal care needs of students with complex challenges
· Ability to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and coaching of Inclusion & Intervention strategies for staff
· Proven success in implementing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions for Pre K to Grade 9 students with complex needs
· Documented experience working with children displaying physical, emotional, and behavioral diversity
· Knowledge and connections to develop and manage care plans for medically challenged students
· Ability to lead, collaborate with, and mentor staff and parents in the support of students with complex needs
· Willingness to develop skills for administering academic/educational assessments for students with complex needs
· Leadership in making informed, data-driven decisions
Requirements:
· Being an active practicing Catholic engaged in personal faith development is considered an asset
· A recent (within the last 6 months) Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check must be provided upon employment
