Located in the Al Hamra community in the southern region of Ras Al Khaimah, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an evolving primary and lower secondary school that follows an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our newly launched secondary school will admit students in Grades 6 to 8 for the first time in August 2026. We are accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO), aligning with leading international British schools, and we are capable of delivering ECT induction for teachers.
The Role (Founding Position):
RAK Academy – Al Hamra is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring Secondary Arabic Social Studies Teacher to help establish a premier Arabic social studies program for our new secondary school. This pioneering role offers a unique opportunity to shape curriculum implementation, departmental culture, language proficiency pathways, and teaching standards as we prepare for our opening in August 2026.
As a founding educator, the Secondary Arabic Social Studies Teacher will:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Arabic Social Studies lessons for Grades 6–8.
- Assist in designing and implementing the Arabic Social Studies curriculum.
- Foster a strong culture of Arabic literacy, fluency, and appreciation for Emirati and Arab heritage.
- Support enrichment initiatives such as reading programs, debate clubs, and cultural celebrations.
- Collaborate with the Head of Arabic and primary Arabic leaders to ensure smooth continuity and progression.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development.
- Teach across various key stages as the school grows.

Essential:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Familiarity with the Ministry of Education curriculum for Arabic Social Studies.
- A solid understanding of teaching and learning methodologies.
- High proficiency in using technology to enhance educational practices.
- Ability to effectively engage, motivate, and support students.
- Reflective practice skills along with creativity and innovation.
- A positive, enthusiastic approach and a growth mindset.
- Willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply).
Desirable:
- Training in the UK Curriculum or International Baccalaureate.
- A proven record of improving student outcomes.
- Experience contributing to or leading curriculum development initiatives.
