About This Role

We are currently looking for candidates to fill this position and will prioritize those who are already located in China.

Job Description:

  • Create, prepare, and deliver dynamic lessons that align with the standards of the English National Curriculum and/or International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
  • Take on the primary responsibility for teaching essential subjects, typically including English, Mathematics, Science, and thematic learning.
  • Implement differentiated teaching strategies to address the diverse needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles of students in your classroom.
  • Utilize both formative and summative assessments effectively to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and ensure that all learners achieve the defined learning goals.
  • Serve as the primary pastoral caregiver for your homeroom students, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Partner with the learning support department to identify and provide assistance to students with special educational needs.
  • Regularly document and evaluate students' academic performance and personal development.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding their children's academic progress.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialist educators, and teaching assistants.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities, while following all school policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE; a minimum of two years of experience as a homeroom teacher in an international school setting.
  • A solid understanding and practical experience with the English National Curriculum and/or International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
  • Experience in instructing EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver differentiated instruction and effectively manage a classroom in a multicultural international school environment; experience with integrating various educational technologies into teaching is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for working with children, marked by patience, compassion, and empathy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A dedication to lifelong learning, emphasizing continuous professional development and reflective practices.
