Job Description
Him Lam International School Bac Ninh is searching for a dedicated and experienced Whole School PE/Sports teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering lessons that develop students' theoretical understanding and practical sports skills. Additional tasks will involve assigning homework, grading assessments, and monitoring students' academic progress.
Your aim will be to improve student learning outcomes by applying effective teaching practices that reflect the school’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Learning Principles, Learner Sphere, Culture, as well as relevant national and international programs.
To excel in this position, a strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies is essential. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment that meets the psychosocial needs of students.
Duties
- Design, organize, and deliver instruction that is in line with the Cambridge curriculum and school standards, accommodating various learning styles, abilities, and needs.
- Develop and execute lesson plans that utilize a range of teaching methods and strategies to guarantee individual student success.
- Offer personalized and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum for students with differing intellectual and athletic capabilities, integrating various instructional activities.
- Teach students the correct use and upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Ensure that sports facilities comply with Health and Safety regulations, keeping furniture and the environment in excellent condition, and report any issues to the facilities manager.
- Communicate effectively to enhance each student’s knowledge and skills at their respective grade levels and subjects.
- Conduct academic assessments to measure student progress toward learning targets and knowledge acquisition, preparing necessary written and oral reports for relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and assess student wellbeing, both in your capacity as a subject teacher and as a homeroom teacher, to promote their personal and social development.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to promote an orderly and productive classroom environment.
- Remain sensitive to the needs of students for whom English is a second language.
- Adjust lesson plans to cater to the differentiation needs of students with additional requirements.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share innovative ideas, strategies, and professional insights.
- Regularly engage with SEN and EAL teams to ensure a holistic approach for students with varying developmental levels.
- Track student attendance during lessons and oversee the quality of classwork, homework, and other assignments.
- Maintain accurate records and submit lesson plans for approval to the Head of International Programme with oversight from the School Director.
- Ensure clear and professional communication with parents, providing updates on their children's progress and keeping parent communication platforms up to date as per initial requirements.
- Participate in curriculum development, homeroom activities, extracurricular programs, and other school initiatives.
- Engage in school events such as sports training, competitions, Open Day, Admissions Day, After School Activities, PD training, or Parent-Teacher Conferences.
- Supervise designated out-of-classroom activities during school hours as required.
- Build positive relationships and maintain open communication with fellow staff members.
- Ensure the effective use of resources, materials, and equipment.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of the International Programme as the line manager.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education or Sports Science.
- Valid teaching certificate/license in the subject area.
- Cambridge certificate (preferred).
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar role within an international or bilingual school setting.
- Experience with the Cambridge PE curriculum is preferred.
