Overview:

The Performance Analyst will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to support evidence-based decision-making within the Mustang High Performance Team. This position will spearhead initiatives in biometric data gathering, video analysis, and dashboard creation to assist coaches and staff in monitoring athlete performance, wellbeing, and development over time. The role will also emphasize fostering innovation through technology and AI to enhance analysis and intervention strategies throughout the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the gathering and analysis of biometric, physiological, and performance data for all high-performance athletes.
  • Oversee the analysis and distribution of video footage from matches, training sessions, and performance assessments to support both individual and team development.
  • Create and maintain tailored dashboards (e.g., Power BI, TeamBuildr, VALD) to track trends, identify challenges, and inform coaching decisions.
  • Collaborate with coaches to define performance profiles and ensure tailored feedback is delivered to athletes and their families.
  • Produce monthly reports assessing wellbeing, load, attendance, behavior, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for intervention.
  • Work closely with the High Performance Coordinator to assist in IAP reviews by providing comprehensive performance summaries.
  • Develop visual and video coaching resources to aid in technical and tactical advancement, including highlight reels, breakdown clips, and team evaluations.
  • Research and implement advanced technologies and AI tools to enhance performance tracking, player monitoring, and auto-tagging capabilities.
  • Assist in creating digital portfolios for athletes seeking scholarships or external performance opportunities.
  • Ensure all data systems comply with school data protection and safeguarding regulations.
  • Contribute to the formulation of specialized professional training within the GEMS Network as part of the Centre of Excellence for Sport.
  • Assume any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sport or High Performance Coordinator to support the overall objectives and outcomes of the school.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Science, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification preferred).
  • Experience in a school, academy, or professional sports setting in a performance analysis or data-centric role.
  • Proficiency in performance software (e.g., HUDL and VALD) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
