About This Role

UWCSEA East is seeking a Part-Time Teacher of High School Physics and Coordinated Science, starting in August 2026. The selected candidate will instruct IB Diploma Physics as well as Grade 9 and 10 Coordinated Science. We are in search of a passionate educator who is eager to learn. The Science Department consists of dedicated and energetic educators working in a well-equipped learning environment. Instruction occurs in specialized laboratories that are part of a large, dynamic Science Faculty at UWCSEA.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must possess an internationally recognized teaching qualification and currently reside in Singapore. Availability starting August 2026 is essential.

Main Responsibilities:
- Contribute positively to the collaborative environment of the Science Faculty and the wider High School community.
- Design learning experiences that challenge students, cater to diverse learning needs, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
- Ensure assessments foster continuous learning and provide timely, relevant feedback on both formative and summative assessments.
- Exhibit effective classroom management that acknowledges the academic, social, and emotional aspects of learning.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their children’s learning and proactively engage with them.

Expectations and Standards:
- Adhere to the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and the Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
- Teach in accordance with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards.

Person Specifications:
- A degree in Physics or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification or certification, is required.
- A willingness to actively engage in the five key aspects of a UWCSEA education: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal and Social Education, and Service.
- Academic expectations include enthusiastic involvement in Professional Learning.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion is crucial, along with a readiness to adapt and enhance teaching methods to meet the needs of our students.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
