Curriculum and Instruction
- Design and implement stimulating, inquiry-driven lessons that meet MYP subject objectives and assessment standards.
- Deliver subject matter that promotes conceptual understanding and its application in practical situations.
- Incorporate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and support the development of the IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Tailor instruction to meet the varied learning needs, backgrounds, and abilities of every student.
- Leverage technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences when suitable.
Assessment and Reporting
- Develop and conduct assessments in accordance with MYP subject criteria and moderation protocols.
- Use both formative and summative assessments to track student progress and inform teaching strategies.
- Provide prompt, constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and self-assessment.
- Prepare and submit accurate student reports while actively participating in parent-teacher meetings.
Learning Environment and Student Support
- Cultivate a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through proactive pastoral care.
- Promote student voice, choice, and accountability in their learning experiences.
- Work with the learning support team to implement needed accommodations and modifications.
Collaboration and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with MYP team members and subject departments to enhance interdisciplinary units and ensure curriculum coherence.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of MYP curriculum documents and planning templates.
- Engage in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to the school’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Education or a comparable field, along with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle years or international school setting.
- Experience or training with the IB Middle Years Programme is strongly preferred.
- A solid understanding of concept-based and inquiry-driven teaching approaches.
- Strong assessment literacy and familiarity with criterion-referenced assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
