JOB IDENTITY

Location: Brookes Moscow, Russia

Reports to: Head of Primary

We are seeking an enthusiastic pre-K teacher to guide a classroom of young learners through various educational experiences, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and field trips. Your main responsibility will be to teach essential kindergarten readiness skills, such as letter and number recognition, developing social skills, and navigating a classroom environment.

The ideal pre-K teacher embodies qualities such as patience, compassion, and enthusiasm. You should be able to inspire, support, and nurture young children, each with their unique strengths and challenges. Candidates should also demonstrate creative thinking and strong organizational abilities to design and deliver engaging and innovative lessons aligned with educational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a nurturing, secure, play-based environment for Early Years that follows developmentally appropriate practices and American early childhood education standards.
  • Develop daily lesson plans targeting early literacy, phonological awareness, fundamental numeracy, fine motor skills, as well as speaking and listening, and early inquiry skills.
  • Organize learning centers, sensory experiences, guided play activities, STEAM setups, and outdoor explorations in accordance with developmental objectives.
  • Conduct continuous assessments to track progress in cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
  • Modify activities for students with varying developmental stages, learning styles, and language backgrounds, including EAL support.
  • Promote social-emotional development through conflict resolution, established routines, emotional literacy, and cooperative play.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents, providing updates on learning, workshops, and support during transitions.
  • Collaborate with specialists such as SENCO, occupational therapists, counselors, and language educators.
  • Keep the classroom orderly and clean, ensuring compliance with all Early Years safety and health regulations.
  • Foster respect and discipline to create effective classroom experiences.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times, including lunch, recess, and field trips.
  • Ensure a safe, tidy, and well-maintained classroom environment.
  • Oversee children during meals, playtime, naptime, and transitions.
  • Engage in Early Years events, celebrations, and seasonal activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience in Primary Teaching, Child Development, or a comparable area.
  • A valid teaching certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Early Years (preferably in international schools).
  • In-depth knowledge of early literacy development, play-based learning, behavior management, and developmental milestones.
  • Strong ability to provide EAL support and understanding of language acquisition processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and a deep sense of empathy for young children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • High levels of patience, creativity, and emotional resilience, along with strong safeguarding awareness.
  • Traits such as patience, optimism, compassion, enthusiasm, and empathy.
  • Mediation skills for resolving conflicts among children.
  • A creative approach to crafting innovative and engaging lesson plans.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for young learners.

Compensation
