Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver compelling lessons, materials, and content that align with the Saulteaux Curriculum for Yellow Quill First Nation.
  • Employ a variety of instructional methods (including digital, visual, and experiential learning) to accommodate different learning preferences.
  • Create a safe, enriching, and stimulating atmosphere where students can thrive and feel supported.
  • Conduct initial assessments and follow up with both formal and informal evaluations to track student progress.
  • Evaluate student performance and prepare reports for parents and colleagues.
  • Assess student assignments, tests, and evaluations, offering constructive feedback and emphasizing strengths to foster development.
  • Maintain open communication with students, fellow educators, stakeholders, and parents/caregivers.
  • Implement behavior management strategies, track student behavior, and monitor progress.
  • Stay updated on relevant policies and standards, including child protection and safety protocols.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with colleagues to improve educational practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • Valid Professional “A” Teaching Certificate.
  • A strong understanding of Saulteaux Culture is preferred; a willingness to learn is also valued.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to innovative and adaptive teaching methods that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with the community.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
