About This Role

BFIS Elementary School

Teacher of Elementary Music and Drama

The Music and Drama Specialist position is crafted to nurture students' creative expression at BFIS, specifically within Early Childhood and Elementary education. This role will guide students in building creative confidence, effective communication skills, and collaboration through music and drama, while also teaching fundamental concepts, techniques, and performance abilities.

We seek a talented and collaborative educator who will enrich and integrate the performing arts program across both the Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Elementary divisions. At BFIS, our teachers engage in collaborative practices, continually reflecting on their instructional methods to enhance student learning. Our curriculum is regularly updated to serve a diverse, multilingual community that includes students learning English as an additional language, as well as those with varied learning and enrichment needs. Given our location in Catalunya, it is essential for the music program to incorporate and celebrate Catalan culture. Educators are expected to apply research-based instructional strategies, engage in inclusive teaching practices, and effectively collaborate with colleagues to support all students.

At BFIS, we hold the belief that creativity, empathy, and innovation are key competencies for addressing modern challenges. Our educational philosophy emphasizes empowering students to think critically and creatively, act with empathy, and engage in meaningful interactions within a caring and inclusive setting.
