Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Design and Implementation
- Provide engaging bilingual instruction (Chinese/English) that ignites students' curiosity while establishing a solid foundation in literacy and cultural appreciation.
- Design inventive lesson plans (PBL, IBL, etc.) that integrate core subject areas and address real-world challenges, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and essential skills.
- Deliver personalized instruction and academic assistance, crafting individualized programs to meet varied needs while offering group instruction and tailored guidance to promote holistic development for all students.
- Implement self-directed learning techniques to nurture globally competitive and enthusiastic learners.
- Supply clear instructions, interactive materials, stimulating questions, and create engaging games and activities to enrich the learning experience.
Teaching Environment
- Classroom and School Physical Environment
- Effectively arrange classroom areas, utilizing natural and living materials, and design open and exploratory spaces to facilitate children's experiential learning.
- Create a secure classroom environment by routinely checking for safety hazards and ensuring smooth daily transitions for classroom safety.
- Display students’ work, closely monitor their activities, and showcase their daily contributions and creations in the classroom, promoting a sense of belonging and identity.
- Classroom Culture and Environment
- Foster a vibrant, respectful learning space that reflects the school's values and guidelines.
- Exhibit kindness, strength, and inclusivity in daily interactions with both students and colleagues.
- Actively promote a positive school culture through collaboration and mentorship.
Student Care and Behavioral Support
- Demonstrate genuine care for every child, ensuring that each student feels valued and supported.
- Attend to children’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, being knowledgeable about child psychology, treating children with respect, and providing appropriate emotional support.
- Establish classroom rules and transition procedures following the school’s behavior intervention principles, working with the classroom teacher to positively guide children's behavior.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to address children's daily needs and support their healthy development.
Home-School Communication
- Through meetings, phone calls, and home-school interaction platforms, offer parents educational guidance and help them navigate challenges related to their children’s behavior, learning, and daily lives, ensuring they understand the school’s educational philosophy and teaching methods.
- Provide regular updates on academic performance, behavior, and achievements.
- Maintain consistent communication and information sharing with the classroom teacher, regularly discussing classroom management strategies to create a cooperative environment for children’s learning and growth.
Professional Growth & Collaboration
- Actively participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) to exchange best practices and innovative strategies.
- Engage in school-wide research projects and contribute to curriculum development.
- Commit to continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and improve student outcomes.
Beyond the Classroom
- Support extracurricular activities (clubs, events, competitions) to enhance student experiences.
- Organize or assist with school-authorized programs (e.g., cultural festivals, STEM fairs).
- Actively engage in school events, such as open houses, parent-child activities.
