About This Role

At AIA, our educational philosophy is defined by the following principles:

1. An inquiry-driven approach.

2. A significant focus on understanding concepts deeply.

3. Growth within both local and international frameworks.

4. A strong dedication to teamwork and collaborative initiatives.

5. Tailored differentiation to address the varied needs of all students.

6. Insights gained from diverse assessment types (both formative and summative).

As a result, our educators are tasked with the following responsibilities:

- Employing a range of inquiry techniques (including open, structured, and guided approaches) to ignite students’ curiosity and equip them with the necessary skills to build their understanding and evolve into independent, lifelong learners.

- Providing conceptual knowledge that spans multiple subjects to help students comprehend intricate ideas. This requires carefully crafting questions, inquiries, and provocations to enhance conceptual insights while making connections between content, skills, and concepts.

- Creating authentic learning experiences that enable students to relate new information to their own lives (local context) and the wider world (global context), fostering a sense of international awareness.

- Collaboratively planning to develop immersive and cooperative learning experiences that encourage meaningful dialogue and feedback, using data to adaptively respond to students' needs.

- Partnering with colleagues to address the diverse needs of students by fostering self-esteem, valuing prior knowledge, scaffolding learning, and offering engaging, respectful, and challenging tasks for all learners.

- Coordinating and executing continuous assessments in collaboration with both students and colleagues to track, document, evaluate, and communicate student progress. Utilizing "Assessment as and for Learning" data to refine teaching strategies as needed.

- Teaching with an emphasis on approaches to learning skills by identifying and imparting essential skills and dispositions. This includes explicitly teaching strategies and techniques that assist learners in processing information and developing self-regulation.

- Effectively integrating technology to enrich student learning experiences, reflecting on the reasons for its use and ensuring digital integrity.

- Encouraging and supporting language development by activating prior knowledge, building foundational understanding, scaffolding language acquisition, enhancing linguistic skills, and affirming student identities.

- Planning to empower students to internalize principles of sustainability and navigate complex systems, enabling them to advocate for actions that promote ecosystem health while fostering equity and envisioning a sustainable future.

- Actively engaging in professional inquiry (such as PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, and data teams) aimed at ongoing reflection on practices and improving learning outcomes for all students.

- Committing to self-reflection to examine beliefs about professional responsibilities, ensuring integrity and transparency in conduct, cultivating learning communities, and respecting as well as promoting both organizational and cultural diversity on local and global levels.
