About This Role

Deliver the prescribed curriculum, showcasing thorough and current knowledge of the subject matter.
Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students, while creating and utilizing appropriate resources and classroom settings to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Provide written documentation of planning and preparation as requested. Maintain organized records of curriculum plans, yearly goals, attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and other related documents.
Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and professional conduct at all times.
Instruct students in alignment with their unique needs, employing suitable teaching methods that address various abilities, including those of late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic capabilities, as well as gifted and talented individuals.
Assign and evaluate student work. Monitor, document, and report on the academic growth, progress, and achievements of students, utilizing assessments to tailor the curriculum to their individual needs.
Exhibit proficiency in integrating media and technology into the classroom environment.
Foster the overall development and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational matters.
Engage with external stakeholders when necessary, such as officials from the Ministry of Education.
Participate in appraisal, Performance Management procedures, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Collaborate with colleagues in creating and refining teaching materials, resources, curriculum, and pastoral care strategies.
Take part in, and lead when appropriate, co-curricular and extracurricular activities within the school. Cultivate positive working relationships by actively leading and sharing ideas, resources, and experiences with others.
Oversee and guide student behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Develop and implement strategies that promote self-discipline and address disruptive behavior effectively.
Exemplify and encourage cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
Assist in organizing and planning school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days.
Maintain regular communication with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents informed about their children's progress while safeguarding the confidentiality of student information.
Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the standard workday when additional commitment is required.
Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as needed.
