About This Role

Established in 2005, Gulf British Academy is a dynamic British International School that holds BSO accreditation. Currently, we serve students from Pre-KG through Year 11, with plans to expand annually into a full 3-18 through school. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Biology Teacher from the UK to join our team of Specialist Subject Teachers. Candidates must be proficient in English and possess a UK Department for Education teacher reference number or be in their final year of teacher training.

What you will bring:

You are well-versed in Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 Science, particularly with Edexcel IGCSE and AS Biology. You are a reflective educator who adapts your teaching practices to enhance lesson quality, boost student attainment, foster confidence, and promote independent learning.

Essential requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Biology or a related field, along with a certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of your subject area, demonstrated through experience and enthusiasm for teaching.
  • Familiarity with IGCSE Edexcel.
  • Proven teaching experience in the UK or in an international setting within a British curriculum-based, BSO-accredited school.
  • A commitment to safeguarding students and promoting equal opportunities for all learners and staff.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or police clearance.
  • A readiness to contribute significantly to our broader curriculum, including the development of extracurricular programs.
  • A high level of IT proficiency, with experience using Google Workspace, Zoom, Gmail, shared drives, and IT tools for recording observations and assessments.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Certification in Google Workspace for Education.
  • Experience with student management information systems (iSAMs, SIMS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of initiatives such as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset.
