About This Role

The Associate HR Business Partner collaborates closely with the HRBP to establish a productive partnership with educational leaders, aimed at enhancing the People & Organization (P&O) deliverables within schools and ensuring alignment with the organization's business objectives. This role is focused on gaining a comprehensive understanding of their designated cluster.

In this position, the Associate HR Business Partner aids the HRBP by offering guidance to the clusters and implementing initiatives related to employer branding, employee engagement, and talent management.

Talent Identification, Succession Planning, and Performance Management

  • Assist in succession planning efforts to identify and mobilize talent for opportunities within the GEMS network.
  • Keep accurate records for talent initiatives, including the 9-box grid, leadership databases, and talent pipelines.
  • Support strategies for internal talent branding and attraction.
  • Maintain current HR cluster dashboards and execute action plans to tackle critical areas.
  • Promote an effective performance management process across all staff categories in schools.
  • Collaborate with the HRBP to implement the Professional Development Plan (PDP) for the assigned cluster.

Recruitment & Retention

  • Ensure that leadership hiring within schools aligns with internal talent mapping and external pipelining initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the central recruitment team to maintain alignment with the recruitment plan at the cluster level.
  • Keep a centralized record of key vacancies.
  • Facilitate the annual intentions process, perform data analysis, and examine exit trends to devise the most effective recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance checks on the exit process to enhance retention year over year.

Culture & Employee Relations

  • Coordinate actions from the organization’s climate survey and monitor the organizational pulse to foresee potential issues.
  • Represent and promote core values through all People-focused initiatives within schools.
  • Contribute to and promote staff wellness and wellbeing programs.
  • Assist the HRBP in managing employee issues and whistleblower reports.
  • Support the HRBP in implementing GEMS Separation procedures, as well as Grievance and Discipline policies in the assigned schools.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Work with the GR team to stay informed about employment law and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure that employee reconciliations are conducted by the school.
  • Drive compliance with the Safer Recruitment policy across the GEMS MENASA network, providing ongoing advice to schools and coordinating necessary training.
  • Conduct periodic safer recruitment audits, analyze the results, and recommend action plans for improvements alongside the HRBP.
  • Enhance knowledge of legal requirements concerning daily employee management and P&O policies, thereby minimizing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Reporting & Data Analytics

  • Take ownership of the HR data for the assigned cluster(s) and be responsible for the continuous improvement and maintenance of data quality.
  • Support the implementation of HR automation projects by collaborating with ERP, Data Analytics, and HR project teams to achieve core automation business objectives.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
