In response to the school’s ongoing expansion, we are looking to appoint a motivated and inspiring Associate Assistant Head of Primary - Curriculum Enrichment & Student Experience to join our leadership team at Arcadia British School. This crucial position emphasizes empowering our staff and community to deliver an exceptional curriculum enrichment program and to ensure a high-quality student experience.

This leadership role is both exciting and multifaceted. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, as a significant aspect of the role involves collaborating with teams and individuals to lead and coordinate programs and projects with varying priorities. They should excel in creative thinking, embrace calculated risks, actively listen to diverse perspectives, and identify where meaningful connections can be established.

The successful applicant will oversee three primary areas: Curriculum Enrichment, Student Leadership, and Special Projects and Events. They will manage project budgets and implement impactful programs that enhance teaching, learning, and professional development. Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Fully qualified teacher with BEd, MEd, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent
  • Recent relevant professional development that prepares the candidate for this role
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in Primary education
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience, such as Head of Year or Department

  • Curriculum Enrichment Development: Lead the design, review, and implementation of a comprehensive, innovative, and engaging enrichment curriculum that meets educational standards and caters to the diverse needs of students.
  • Student Leadership: Oversee the development of student leadership programs within the Primary school, including the School Council, Student Leadership Groups, and Character Education initiatives.
  • Special Projects and Events: Provide strategic oversight for the school house system, special projects, real-world connections (including student enterprise with businesses and industries), and school-wide community and curriculum enrichment events.
  • Teaching & Learning: Support the advancement of high-quality teaching and learning outcomes, offering guidance to teaching staff in effective pedagogical practices.
  • Professional Development: Identify, plan, and implement professional development programs for staff, enhancing their skills in curriculum delivery and enrichment.
  • Inclusivity and Equity: Foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment by devising strategies that address the diverse needs of all students, promoting a culture of diversity and inclusivity within the school.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with parents, the community, and school leadership to forge strong partnerships, communicate curriculum-related information, and ensure a supportive and engaged educational community.

The successful candidate will play a vital role within the Primary Leadership team. All senior leaders remain active teachers in the classroom, thus the role also entails a significant teaching commitment.
