About This Role

Located on Al Reem Island, our institution integrates the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework with aspects of the British curriculum, offering students a comprehensive and globally oriented education.

We are currently seeking applications from skilled and passionate Primary Performing Arts Teachers to become part of our outstanding team starting August 2026.

Our Performing Arts Department has significantly enhanced student outcomes through a progressive, student-focused methodology, merging data-driven strategies with empathy and expertise. Key Responsibilities



Provide high-quality, inclusive instruction that accommodates students with varied learning needs within the IB and British curriculum frameworks.


Work alongside subject teachers to craft and execute strategies that facilitate access, progress, and success for all learners.


Effectively utilize data to track student progress and devise targeted interventions.


Create a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere that aligns with the IB Learner Profile and GEMS Core Values.


Play a role in advancing inclusive practices throughout the secondary school, fostering equity and understanding among students and staff.


Engage with parents and the broader school community to ensure a well-rounded approach to student support.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:


Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Music, Dance, or a related discipline. A teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent) is essential.


Experience: Familiarity with the IB PYP framework and/or British/NCfE is highly desirable.


A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Performing Arts in a school environment, preferably within an international or IB institution.


Language: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.


Skills: Strong classroom management, lesson planning, and an ability to motivate students of diverse abilities and age groups.
