About This Role

Anton Bruckner International School is looking to hire a skilled, adaptable, and dedicated MYP English and I&S Teacher to begin in September 2026. The ideal candidate will be qualified to instruct English and I&S for multilingual students ranging from ages 10 to 18.

Subject teachers play a vital role in realizing the School’s Mission and Vision. This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of students' academic and pastoral needs. Collaboration within teams is essential.

Skills and Qualifications


A degree in English or Humanities (Master’s preferred)


A recognized teaching qualification from your home country


At least two years of teaching experience


Experience with IB MYP English and/or IB MYP I&S instruction


Dedication to ongoing professional development in IB and other areas


Willingness to contribute to the growth of the school, its staff, and student body


Ability to provide examples of differentiated and scaffolded lessons/curriculum


Essential experience in an international school environment


Commitment to diversity and inclusion, along with adapting and evolving teaching methods

Specific Responsibilities

Area 1: Planning and Preparation

The teacher is expected to:


Exhibit a strong understanding of subject matter content.


Effectively utilize available resources and materials, including technology.


Design impactful lessons, units, and differentiation strategies to cater to individual student needs.


Create learning experiences that challenge students, accommodate a diverse range of learners, and reflect a solid commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.


Collaborate in planning for student learning.

Area 2: Teaching, Learning, and Assessing

The teacher is expected to:


Present age-appropriate, subject-relevant curriculum using diverse and balanced teaching strategies.


Maintain consistently high expectations for student achievement, building on their previous knowledge and experiences.


Integrate IB teaching methodologies into classroom practices to foster inquiry-based, concept-driven units and lessons.


Develop methods that actively support the IB Learner Profile.


Employ a variety of assessment tools and reporting methods to track student progress.


Deliver regular, timely, clear, and constructive feedback to enhance student learning.


Address the needs of students who may struggle with the language of instruction.


Encourage student engagement in their own learning process.


Inspire students to become creative and critical thinkers.


Offer students frequent opportunities for self-reflection on their learning.


Use a mix of formative and summative assessment strategies to inform and adjust teaching practices.


Exhibit qualities such as patience, empathy, and genuine concern for students.

Area 3: Learning Environment

The teacher is expected to:


Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere for students.


Collaborate effectively with all members of the school community.


Demonstrate proficient classroom management that acknowledges the academic, social, and emotional facets of learning.


Manage classroom routines and procedures efficiently.


Implement positive behavior management strategies.


Identify and mitigate potential behavior issues.

Area 4: Professional Responsibilities

The teacher is expected to:


Reflect on the effectiveness of their teaching practices.


Engage in team planning and collaboration.


Communicate effectively and clearly with all relevant stakeholders.


Foster professional and constructive relationships with parents, staff, and students.


Keep parents informed about their children’s learning and proactively communicate with them.


Maintain accurate records using school platforms.


Stay updated with pedagogical advancements that can enhance student learning.


Contribute to the development and ongoing progress of the school.


Assist the school in various capacities, including supervision duties, teaching assigned classes, and supporting students with Personal Projects, Service as Action, Homeroom duties, etc.


Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth.


Attend pre-school year development meetings.


Coordinate with the learning support department regarding students who may need additional help or are experiencing academic concerns.


Alert the school counselor and/or Senior Leadership Team when a student is deemed at-risk.


Communicate changes in students' behavior or welfare as necessary.

General

The teacher is expected to:


Support community and school-related initiatives to enhance school life.


Assist with other activities or responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the School Principal, within the scope of the teacher's duties.

Compensation

3520 € - 6255 € per month (Pay scale based on experience)
