About This Role

Aldar Education is on the lookout for an exceptional Design and Technology Teacher to join Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in the academic year 2025-26.

Established in 2009, we have built a strong reputation for excellence, consistently achieving an "Outstanding" ADEK rating since 2015. In August 2025, Muna British Academy will transition to a brand-new campus located in the prestigious Saadiyat Lagoons community. This new location will enhance our offerings, initially accommodating students from FS1 to Year 7, with plans to expand to Year 13 in the future, all within a cutting-edge environment that aligns with our mission to provide outstanding education.

• Collaborating and working effectively as part of a team.

Teaching and Learning:

• Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum.

• Organizing classroom resources and displays to foster an engaging and positive learning atmosphere.

• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that accommodate a diverse range of abilities within the class.

• Motivating students through dynamic and creative teaching methods.

• Observing and assessing students in accordance with school standards.

• Reflecting on classroom practices, lessons delivered, and progress made, adjusting the environment, planning, and curriculum as necessary.

• Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.

• Ensuring that the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

• Taking ownership of a class's academic progress.

• Meeting the standards for assessing and recording student development using Target Tracker.

• Utilizing assessment data to guide further planning, provisions, and interventions.

• Providing feedback to parents and caregivers regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

• Adhering to the school's behavior policy.

• Effectively managing classes using strategies suited to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.

• Maintaining positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when required in line with school behavior policies.

• Serving as a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the expected attitudes, values, and behaviors.

• Upholding high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.

• Performing duties as assigned within the school's policy framework.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

• Contributing to a curriculum action group, aiding in planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to that team.

• Supporting and participating in school events, outings, and activities, which may occur on weekends or evenings.

• Effectively communicating with parents and caregivers regarding students' achievements and well-being through school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.

• Making a positive impact on the broader life and ethos of the school.

• Leading a weekly extracurricular activity each term.

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

• A minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.

• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.

• A passion for teaching and a commitment to the holistic education of children.

• A high level of professionalism and consideration for children's well-being.

• Recent and active involvement in extracurricular activities.

• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, gender, age, or ethnic background.

• A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional life.

• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
