About This Role
Raffles American School (RAS) is looking for an enthusiastic and creative High School Spanish Teacher to become part of our Middle & High School team for the academic year 2026.
Position Overview
Raffles American School Bangkok is on the hunt for a vibrant and student-focused High School Spanish Teacher to instruct IB Diploma Programme Spanish ab initio to students in Grade 11 and Grade 12, while also introducing Spanish as an elective option within the high school curriculum.
This role presents a thrilling chance to teach within the IB framework and to develop a new introductory Spanish course, contributing to the expansion of the school’s language offerings.
Key Responsibilities
• Instruct Grade 11 and Grade 12 students in IB Spanish ab initio
• Guide students through all elements of the IB course, including preparation for assessments and meeting coursework demands
• Design and deliver engaging lessons that adhere to IB Diploma Programme standards
• Create and implement an introductory Spanish elective for high school, including ongoing curriculum development throughout the academic year
• Evaluate and track student progress, keeping accurate records and providing timely feedback
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the IB Coordinator to uphold program quality and coherence
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff
• Make positive contributions to the broader school community
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Modern Languages, Education, or a related discipline
• Teaching qualification or license is preferred
• Experience in teaching Spanish at the high school level
• Excellent communication and classroom management abilities
Preferred
• Experience with teaching IB Spanish (ab initio or comparable)
• IB training (Category 1 or higher) is advantageous
• Background in curriculum development, especially for introductory language courses
• Experience in an international or multicultural educational setting
Professional Development
• IB training will be provided for the selected candidate if not already attained

We offer competitive salaries for fully qualified and licensed full-time teachers. Please note that there is no additional housing stipend. Candidates will have their flight to Thailand reimbursed and will receive round-trip airfare to their home country at the conclusion of each contract (for overseas applicants only). RAS will cover visa and work permit expenses, and medical, accident, disability, and life insurance will also be included.
