Secondary School French Teacher
About This Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified IGCSE & IB DP French Teacher (m/f/d) to become a part of our vibrant educational team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons that spark students' interest while promoting a comprehensive understanding of essential concepts. This role involves not just imparting theoretical knowledge but also utilizing innovative teaching strategies to foster critical thinking and real-world relevance.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that align with the Secondary School Languages, IGCSE, and IB French curricula.
•
Create and implement effective assessments that meet IB standards and accurately gauge students' comprehension of various concepts within the chosen IB pathway.
•
Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in IGCSE and IB French education, ensuring a current knowledge base.
•
Offer timely and constructive feedback to students to aid their learning and academic development.
•
Monitor and support student progress, well-being, and academic results in the French subject area.
•
Actively engage in the implementation of school policies, particularly concerning safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities for all learners.
•
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance and develop the French curricula.
Qualifications & Experience:
•
A recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDip, BA, MA, MBA, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent credential, along with proof of ongoing professional development.
•
Demonstrated experience teaching French at the IGCSE and IB Diploma levels, as well as DELF A1 to B2.
•
Familiarity with assessment practices within the IB and IGCSE frameworks.
•
Proven ability to incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods into the French curriculum.
•
Collaborative spirit, demonstrating the ability to work well with colleagues and contribute to a unified department.
•
Evidence of participation in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs or academic contests related to French.
The role of 'French Subject Co-ordinator' may be offered to a suitably qualified applicant.
