We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Teacher of Physics to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of our Science Department, where you will deliver exceptional lessons and motivate students throughout the Senior School. It is essential that candidates can teach Science in Years 7 and 8 (covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as a combined subject). We especially encourage applications from those who can teach either Biology or Chemistry at iGCSE level, in addition to Physics at IBDP level.

In this role, you will create dynamic Physics lessons that foster scientific curiosity, analytical reasoning, and hands-on laboratory skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Deliver meticulously planned and engaging Physics lessons that adhere to Key Stage 3, iGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme guidelines, as well as the overall academic expectations of the school.


Teach combined Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to students in Years 7 and 8.


Encourage scientific exploration, analytical reasoning, and practical laboratory abilities through high-quality instruction.


Effectively prepare students for both internal and external assessments, including the requirements of iGCSE and IBDP.


Accurately assess, monitor, and report on student progress, ensuring high academic standards are upheld.


Contribute to the development of the curriculum and the continuous enhancement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment methods.


Collaborate and support colleagues within the Science Department to promote effective teaching practices and ongoing professional development.


Implement inclusive teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of all students, including those with varied learning requirements.


Enhance the science extracurricular program through clubs, competitions, field trips, and enrichment activities.


Play a role in the pastoral care of students, fostering wellbeing, resilience, and a love for scientific inquiry.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Physics or a closely related scientific field.


Experience teaching Physics at iGCSE and IBDP levels, as well as combined Science in Years 7 and 8.


Capability to teach either Biology or Chemistry at iGCSE alongside Physics.


Strong subject expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring students to engage with and appreciate science.


Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities.


A reflective and innovative approach with a dedication to ongoing professional development.


Experience in an international school setting or familiarity with international curricula is highly desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
