About This Role

BFIS Elementary School
Teacher of Elementary Music and Drama

The role of Music and Drama Specialist is designed to foster creative expression among students at BFIS in Early Childhood and Elementary education. This position will assist students in developing creative confidence, effective communication, and collaboration through music and drama while imparting essential concepts, techniques, and performance skills.

We are on the lookout for a skilled and cooperative educator who can enhance and integrate the performing arts program across both the Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Elementary divisions. At BFIS, our educators work collaboratively, reflecting on their teaching practices to enhance student learning. The curriculum is continuously adapted to cater to a diverse, multilingual community, which includes students learning English as an additional language and those with varied learning and enrichment needs. Given our location in Catalunya, it is crucial that the music program embraces and highlights the Catalan culture. Educators are expected to utilize research-informed instructional methods, implement inclusive teaching practices, and work effectively with colleagues to support all students.

At BFIS, we believe that creativity, compassion, and innovation are vital competencies for tackling contemporary challenges. Our educational philosophy focuses on empowering students to think critically and creatively, act empathetically, and engage in meaningful interactions within a caring and inclusive environment.
