About This Role
SNA-HCMC is seeking a qualified Psychology & English Language & Literature Teacher to start in AUGUST 2026. Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in the MYP/DP. Participation in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) will be expected as we enhance our CCA offerings.
It is important to note that SNA-HCMC is affiliated with CIS and fully accredited by WASC, emphasizing safeguarding and child protection throughout the recruitment process. As such, SNA-HCMC adheres to the UN Convention on the Rights of The Child. Responsibilities include:
• Teaching 50% DP Psychology and 50% MYP/DP English Language & Literature
• Familiarizing oneself with and respecting SNA school policies, practices, and procedures.
• Engaging professionally and effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and others.
• Embracing and promoting IB teaching and learning approaches (ATL’s) in daily instruction.
• Exemplifying the attributes of the IB learner profile.
• Assisting students with the MYP/DP exhibition as needed.
• Participating in collaborative grade-level, cross-curricular, and cross-programme meetings to enhance the curriculum.
• Committing to continuous personal and professional development.
• Regularly communicating and collaborating with department colleagues on planning, assessment, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management matters.
• Working with other staff to foster social and emotional awareness.
• Actively participating in behavioral management and pastoral care for homeroom and other class groups.
• Attending and contributing positively to staff meetings.
• Supervising student breaks as required.
• Coordinating class activities as needed.
• Keeping current records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, and parent communications through ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
• Building connections with the parent community to keep them informed about their children's learning.
• Serving as a resource and support for new staff regarding curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
• Engaging in and assisting with school events as needed, along with completing any additional tasks assigned by the DP Coordinator.
Qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or English, along with a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an IB/international school context.
• Comprehensive understanding of the IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning methods.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging, differentiated lessons for a variety of learners.
• Strong classroom management and student supervision abilities.
• Proficient in integrating technology and digital resources into lesson plans.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Creative, collaborative, and proactive in enhancing school life and CCAs.
• Dedicated to child safeguarding with the ability to provide valid background checks.
• Willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
