About This Role
SNA-HCMC is seeking a skilled MYP/DP Design Teacher to begin in AUGUST 2026. Applicants should possess at least 2 years of teaching experience within the MYP framework. Participation in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) is a key expectation as we aim to enhance our CCA program.
It is important for candidates to know that SNA-HCMC is affiliated with CIS and fully accredited by WASC, prioritizing safeguarding and child protection in its recruitment process. • Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Embrace and advocate for IB teaching and learning approaches (ATL’s) during daily lessons.
• Exemplify the attributes of the IB learner profile.
• Support students in the MYP/DP exhibition when applicable.
• Engage in collaborative meetings at the grade level, cross-curricular, and across programs to enhance the written and taught curriculum.
• Commit to continuous personal and professional growth.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with department members concerning planning, assessment, parent interactions, subject organization, and classroom management issues, including behavior expectations and routines.
• Work together with colleagues to foster social and emotional awareness.
• Actively participate in the behavioral management and pastoral care of homeroom and other classes.
• Attend and contribute positively to staff meetings.
• Assist in supervising students during breaks when necessary.
• Organize class activities as required.
• Keep accurate records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, and parent communication via ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
• Build connections with the parent community to keep them well-informed about student progress.
• Serve as a resource and support for new staff regarding curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
• Participate in and assist with school events as needed and complete any additional tasks assigned by the MYP Coordinator.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Technology Design along with a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an IB or international school environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of the IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
• Demonstrated capability to create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a diverse student body.
• Strong skills in classroom management and student supervision.
• Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into lesson plans.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Creative, collaborative, and proactive in contributing to school life and CCAs.
• Dedication to child safeguarding and the ability to provide valid background checks.
• Openness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
