We are on the lookout for a passionate and highly skilled Teacher of MFL Portuguese to deliver exceptional language instruction throughout the Senior School. The ideal candidate will create engaging Portuguese lessons that promote linguistic skills, cultural insight, and strong academic results. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Deliver thoughtfully designed and inspiring Portuguese lessons that align with the Cambridge curriculum and overall academic standards of the school.


Encourage language acquisition, cross-cultural understanding, and effective communication abilities through high-quality teaching practices.


Accurately assess, monitor, and report on student progress, maintaining rigorous academic standards.


Engage in curriculum development and the continuous enhancement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment methodologies.


Collaborate with colleagues in the Modern Foreign Languages Department, fostering strong pedagogical practices and ongoing professional development.


Implement inclusive teaching methods that support students of varying abilities, including those with diverse learning requirements.


Enrich the MFL co-curricular offerings through clubs, cultural initiatives, competitions, and various enrichment activities.


Contribute to the pastoral wellness of students, promoting resilience, well-being, and a love for language learning.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A valid teaching qualification and a degree in Portuguese Language, Linguistics, or a closely related discipline.


Significant experience in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language, ideally within an international school or Cambridge curriculum environment.


Comprehensive subject knowledge and a fervor for inspiring students to appreciate the Portuguese language and its culture.


Exceptional organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities.


A reflective and innovative approach with a commitment to ongoing professional development.


Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish or French is highly advantageous.

Compensation
