About This Role

Join the School of the Future at Ntare Louisenlund International School, located in the vibrant heart of Rwanda! We are on the lookout for an innovative and passionate MYP German Language Acquisition Teacher to become a part of our dynamic and expanding boarding school community. If you are enthusiastic about inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and empowering students to view mathematics as a tool for deciphering the world around them, we encourage you to apply.

This full-time role involves teaching German within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).

Why Choose Ntare Louisenlund?
Nestled in the picturesque and culturally vibrant Bugesera District of Rwanda, Ntare Louisenlund provides a nurturing and forward-thinking environment where innovation, creativity, and student empowerment are central to the educational experience. Our specially designed campus is aimed at promoting excellence for both students and educators in a cutting-edge, holistic educational atmosphere.

Please note: While IB MYP certification is advantageous, it is not mandatory—comprehensive IB training and professional development will be available.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an MYP Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Motivating students to engage in critical thinking, logical reasoning, and applying mathematical concepts to real-world situations.

• Guiding students through stimulating units rooted in conceptual inquiry and global themes.

• Cultivating a learning space that emphasizes collaboration, communication, creativity, and the development of essential skills.

You will:

• Create and implement differentiated lessons utilizing blended, student-focused methodologies.

• Integrate problem-solving, modeling, and real-life data into everyday instruction.

• Employ the GRASPS framework for authentic summative assessment tasks.

• Assist students in reflecting on their learning, self-regulating, and taking ownership of their academic journey.

The majority of our students are highly motivated, nationally selected scholarship recipients, offering a unique opportunity to influence exceptional learners in profound and lasting ways.

Your Profile
We seek educators who:

• Are reflective, collaborative, and forward-looking.

• Hold the belief that all students can attain a deep understanding of mathematics.

• Value inquiry, maintain a growth mindset, and adopt innovative teaching practices.

• Flourish in a startup school environment where they can actively contribute to shaping the school's vision.

Qualifications and Expectations

• Certified teacher with a specialization in German.

• Preferred experience in teaching within the IB MYP framework or a similar concept-oriented curriculum.

• Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to teach in English as the primary language of instruction.

• Skilled in using digital tools for instruction, collaboration, and assessment.

• Dedicated to mentoring students and fostering their confidence as numerate problem-solvers.

• Committed to continuous professional growth and interdisciplinary collaboration.

What We Provide

• A thoughtfully crafted, modern campus located in one of Africa’s most progressive nations.

• Extensive IB professional development and advancement opportunities.

• A rich co-curricular program that encourages teacher leadership.

• Opportunities for cross-cultural collaboration with Stiftung Louisenlund, our partner school in Germany.

• A mission-driven, collaborative teaching team.

• Competitive salary offered in Rwandan Francs (RWF).
