Role purpose:
This position involves delivering classroom instruction and educational principles aligned with the Cambridge Education curriculum, ensuring the advancement of student learning through effective lesson planning, presentation, classroom activity management, and assessments.

Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to create high-quality lesson plans and learning schemes.
- Design engaging and interactive lessons that promote student involvement.
- Provide instructional support aligned with the relevant curriculum and subject materials.
- Tailor support for students based on their individual needs, accommodating diverse abilities.
- Establish strong, lasting relationships with students both in your classes and throughout the school to foster a deep learning environment.
- Share teaching practices with peers and actively engage in a professional learning community to enhance overall learning quality across the school.
- Uphold high expectations, operating under the belief that all students can exceed their current potential.
- Prepare the classroom by organizing and setting up necessary learning equipment.
- Monitor and manage inventory, sourcing learning supplies as needed.
- Assign and evaluate student projects, assignments, and examinations.
- Record and communicate student progress.
- Promote and ensure student participation in maintaining classroom cleanliness.
- Execute the role in accordance with the Cambridge Teaching Standards.
- Attend faculty and other required school meetings.
- Assist children during school hours and after school in extracurricular activities.
- Provide educational support programs for students as needed during and after school hours.
- Contribute to the HAIS monthly magazine, HAISLife.
- Engage in personal and professional development actively.
- Take on responsibilities assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or Learning Leads.
- Embody the values of Hoi An International School.

Pastoral / Student Well-being:
- Communicate with parents regarding academic and pastoral issues, including following up on student reports, attending parent-teacher meetings, and supporting school events.
- Support the school’s pastoral systems aimed at enhancing student well-being.
- Develop and implement sector-specific and school-wide pastoral programs and initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for students, providing pastoral care to those in your charge and within the school.
- Design and employ teaching methods that effectively address the personal, social, and academic needs of students.
- Ensure an inclusive atmosphere for all students in the classroom and throughout the school.
- Cultivate positive relationships and attitudes towards all students and staff within the school community.
- Be conscious of your pastoral care practices and their effects on students, the school, peers, and the wider community.

Essential criteria:
- A minimum of a university degree along with a recognized teaching qualification.
- At least three (3) years of recent classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in primary education.
- Proven experience with the Cambridge Education curriculum.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to foster a high level of trust among students, parents, and fellow educators.
- Willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities at the school.

Desirable:
- Experience in an international school setting.
- Recent experience in academic and pastoral leadership.
- Knowledge of teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Employment requirements:
For international candidates, it is mandatory to provide legalized and authenticated copies of identification, qualifications, experience, and probity documents as required by HAIS and relevant government agencies. The successful candidate must meet probity standards, including providing appropriate reference checks, and national and local police verifications, as well as any applicable Work with Children Checks.

Compensation

$2,400 - $3,000 per month (Work Permit + Visa Sponsored, Housing Allowance, Health Insurance, Airfare, bonuses, school breaks, ...)
