About This Role

We are actively seeking candidates for this role and will give preference to those currently residing in China.

Job Description:
1. Design, plan, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that align with the English National Curriculum and/or International Primary Curriculum (IPC) standards.
2. Assume primary responsibility for teaching essential subjects, often including English, Mathematics, Science, and Topic/Theme-based learning.
3. Utilize a variety of differentiated teaching methods to cater to the diverse needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles of students in the classroom.
4. Implement both formative and summative assessments to track student progress, guide instruction, and ensure that every student meets set learning objectives.
5. Act as the main pastoral caregiver for homeroom students, nurturing a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
6. Collaborate with the learning support department to identify and assist students with special educational needs.
7. Regularly document and assess students’ academic achievements and personal growth.
8. Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
9. Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, specialist teachers, and teaching assistants.
10. Engage in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities, adhering to all school policies.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, paired with a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE; at least two years of experience as a homeroom teacher in an international school setting.
2. Strong understanding and practical experience with the English National Curriculum and/or International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
3. Experience working with EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners.
4. Proven ability to provide differentiated instruction and manage a classroom within a multicultural international school setting; adept at integrating various educational technology tools into teaching.
5. A genuine passion for working with children, characterized by patience, compassion, and empathy.
6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of effectively juggling multiple responsibilities.
7. A commitment to lifelong learning, with a focus on continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Compensation

£2,000 - £4,000 per month
