About This Role

Deliver the necessary curriculum while showcasing a thorough and current understanding of the subject matter. Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and employ suitable materials and create a classroom environment that accommodates various learning styles.

Provide documented evidence of planning and preparation when requested. Keep accurate records of curriculum outlines, yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment strategies. Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.

Instruct students according to their individual needs, employing appropriate teaching methods that address diverse student abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, and those with varying academic capabilities. Assign and evaluate student work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievement, utilizing assessments to tailor the curriculum to fit each student's needs.

Show proficiency in integrating media and technology within the classroom. Support the overall progress and well-being of students, offering educational guidance as necessary. Engage with external parties when appropriate, such as Ministry of Education representatives.

Participate in appraisal, Performance Management procedures, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and develop teaching materials, resources, course content, and pastoral care arrangements. Take part in and, when suitable, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular programs at the school.

Foster positive working relationships through effective leadership and the exchange of ideas, resources, and experiences. Oversee and guide students in maintaining safe and appropriate behavior. Develop and execute strategies that promote self-discipline and address disruptive behavior.

Exemplify and encourage cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning. Assist in organizing school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days.

Regularly communicate with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep them informed about their children's progress while maintaining student confidentiality. Demonstrate initiative and commitment beyond standard work hours when required. Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as needed. Carry out additional tasks as directed by immediate and indirect supervisors.

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
