About This Role
Join our vibrant team at Brighton College Dubai! We are in the process of expanding and seeking outstanding teachers to begin in January 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a College ambassador within the school and throughout the UAE.
- Teach Music to students from FS1 to Year 4.
- Manage a full teaching schedule, fulfill assigned responsibilities, and lead at least two co-curricular activities each week.
- Prepare lesson plans and documentation for KHDA inspections and accreditations.
Teaching and Learning:
- Create and implement a stimulating music curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum of England and the standards of the College.
- Modify the curriculum to effectively challenge pupils while assessing its success.
- Provide high-quality musical contributions for all College events, including assemblies, parents’ evenings, and significant celebrations.
- Oversee co-curricular music programs that offer diverse opportunities for students.
- Incorporate music into College events such as House competitions and collaborate with other departments (e.g., art, drama).
- Provide numerous opportunities for showcasing musical talent, including performances and competitions.
- Conduct fair assessments while ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Involve parents in both curricular and co-curricular music activities.
- Facilitate staff development and encourage professional growth within the music department.
- Keep abreast of educational advancements and maintain proficiency in music technology.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Actively promote music within the College and the broader community.
- Uphold College pride through exemplary standards of appearance, behavior, and dedication.
- Respond swiftly to communications and attend school events.
- Manage College resources responsibly.
- Contribute to the College’s publications and self-evaluation processes.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with parents and maintain communication records.
- Be on campus from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Execute any reasonable professional requests from the Head Master or Head of Department.
Pastoral:
- Take a keen interest in the personal development of pupils and nurture a supportive environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Advocate for the College's social, moral, and cultural values.
- Ensure adherence to College policies, including Health and Safety and safeguarding.
