Physics Teacher (IB MYP & DP Experience Preferred)

The chosen candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for Physics, align with the school’s vision, and possess the ability to motivate, support, and inspire students effectively.

What will your daily responsibilities include?

The successful applicant will:

  • Bring experience in teaching Physics at the senior school level, with a preference for familiarity with IB MYP and DP.
  • Have a solid understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and curriculum framework.
  • Collaborate on curriculum development, including creating concept-based units of inquiry along with authentic assessment strategies.
  • Engage with and adapt to the diverse needs of students at various levels.
  • Employ a constructivist approach to foster independent learners.
  • Promote international-mindedness and service-learning initiatives.
  • Exhibit high organizational standards.
  • Be approachable and visible, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to enhance the broader school community.
  • Teach additional related subjects as required, based on departmental needs and the candidate's qualifications.

What qualifications and qualities should you possess?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP).
  • Experience teaching Physics throughout the senior school.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with a teaching qualification.
  • Relevant international teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Preferred: Experience or willingness to teach an additional subject, such as Mathematics or Digital Design.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current educational research.
  • The ability to inspire, challenge, and empower students.
  • Creativity, empathy, and a strong desire to positively impact students' learning experiences.
