The Position

The Head of Department will directly report to the Executive Principal via Academic Management.

The ideal candidate will manage a team of dedicated subject specialists, which is expected to grow considerably as student enrollment increases. This individual will be responsible for enhancing the subject across all levels within the School. It is vital for the candidate to possess exceptional organizational skills and to be an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative educator who leads by example. A commitment to diverse teaching strategies and alignment with the School's vision and objectives is crucial.

Qualifications:

• A high-quality degree primarily in the relevant subject area;

• A formal teaching qualification may be advantageous;

• A strong desire for continuous professional development and training;

Skills and Experience:

• Ability to teach the subject confidently to all age groups from 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), remaining up-to-date with advancements in the field;

• A readiness to support students for whom English is not their first language is essential;

• Strong ICT skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and procedures, particularly with the SchoolPal system, which functions as our Virtual Learning Environment;

• Excellent administrative skills;

• An eagerness to participate in the School's extracurricular activities is highly valued;

• A commitment to assisting the Admissions and Marketing teams is crucial;

• Relevant experience in teaching, examining, or the commercial sector will be taken into account.
