The Senior School at Crofton House is characterized by outstanding educators who employ a collaborative, inquiry-driven, and student-focused methodology across all subjects. Our educational framework empowers students to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities within well-equipped, bright, and technology-enhanced learning spaces. We are currently looking for a Mandarin teacher to add to our On-Call roster for the 2025/26 academic year.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
● Serve as a teacher-on-call for Grades 8 - 12
● Leave comprehensive notes for the regular teacher after each assignment
● Assist in supervising students during non-instructional periods
● Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff as needed
● Offer tailored instruction and learning assistance for individual students as necessary
● Engage in co-curricular activities and clubs as required
● Familiarize yourself with and implement all health and safety protocols
● Undertake other assigned duties as needed

Qualifications:
● Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a focus on Mandarin and qualifications for teaching at intermediate and senior levels
● Previous experience as a Mandarin Teacher at the senior school level
● Thorough understanding of contemporary educational practices as outlined by the BC Ministry of Education
● Familiarity with resources such as Chinese Made Easy, QTalk, and Ponddy is a plus
● Experience in an independent school setting is advantageous
● Awareness of the diverse learning styles of girls and young women
● Collaborative, energetic, and passionate about teaching
● Dedicated to the profession of teaching, embracing best practices and professional standards
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
● Legally authorized to work in Canada
