About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Deliver the mandated curriculum, showcasing thorough and current knowledge of the subject matter and educational frameworks.
* Design and execute engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and utilize suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate diverse learning styles.
* Provide written documentation of planning and preparation when requested. Maintain organized records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment strategies.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Instruct students based on their individual needs, employing effective teaching strategies that address various abilities, such as late entrants, ESL learners, and students with differing academic strengths.
* Assign and evaluate student work. Assess, document, and report on students’ academic progress and achievements, using evaluations to tailor the curriculum to individual requirements.
* Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom setting.
* Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.
* Communicate with external parties when necessary, such as officials from the Ministry of Education.
* Engage in appraisal, Performance Management procedures, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues in the preparation and development of teaching resources, course content, and pastoral care strategies.
* Participate in and, when appropriate, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives within the school. Cultivate positive working relationships through proactive leadership and the sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Monitor and oversee student behavior to ensure safety and appropriateness. Develop and implement strategies to foster self-discipline and manage any disruptive conduct.
* Exemplify and promote cultural awareness and appreciation, while nurturing a passion for learning.
* Assist in organizing and planning school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies.
* Regularly communicate with parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values, keeping them informed of their children's progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student information.
* Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the standard work hours when tasks require additional effort and commitment.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
