This role is based at Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior School
In this role, you will:

To support the federation's inclusive practice by coordinating attendance, medical needs and SEND administrative processes to help remove barriers to learning, participation and wellbeing.

The postholder will work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to improve attendance, support pupils with medical needs, maintain effective SEND systems and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion priorities across the federation. The role includes responsibilities as an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

This is an opportunity to contribute to a Trust that is deliberate about how it improves practice and outcomes.

Compass Eko Trust is a family of 28 schools working as one system to improve outcomes for every child. We are united by a clear commitment: every child achieving, without exception.

Through a knowledge-rich curriculum, strong professional collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence, we support our schools to deliver high-quality education in their communities.

Our schools sit at the heart of everything we do. The Trust exists to bring clarity, consistency and support so leaders can focus on what matters most - teaching and learning.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an organised, proactive and compassionate Attendance and Inclusion Support Officer to join our team and play an important role in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning, attendance and wellbeing.

Experience in school administration, attendance, pastoral support, SEND or safeguarding would be valuable, alongside strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills. You will be confident handling information, analysing attendance data and managing competing priorities, with excellent attention to detail.

Building positive relationships will be central to this role. You will work closely with pupils, families, staff and external professionals, often supporting families where there are barriers to attendance or inclusion. You will need to communicate with sensitivity, professionalism and discretion, while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

You will provide administrative support across attendance, SEND and medical needs, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and managed in line with statutory requirements and school procedures. You will also support SEND processes, medical documentation and attendance interventions.

An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality is essential, as the role includes working as an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and supporting the wider safeguarding team. Knowledge of attendance legislation, SEND processes, medical needs in schools and experience using school information or safeguarding systems would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who is professional, approachable, resilient and solution-focused, with a genuine commitment to inclusion and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes.

The role requires travel between federation sites and occasional home visits. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle with appropriate business-use insurance are essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory pre-employment clearances.

As part of our Trust, you will be part of a professional community where:

  • Schools work together, sharing expertise and improving practice

  • Staff benefit from strong professional networks and collaboration across schools

  • Development is supported through coaching, CPD and leadership pathways

  • You are not working in isolation - you are part of a wider system

Our offer:

  • Competitive pay and conditions aligned to national frameworks

  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS)

  • Access to a structured programme of professional development

  • Opportunities to work across schools and develop your career

  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 confidential support

  • Access to staff benefits and discount schemes

  • Family-friendly policies and flexible working options where possible

Visits are welcomed. Please contact the office to arrange this or for any further information.
