About This Role

The Assistant SSI will report directly to the School Staff Instructor, and ultimately to the Deputy Head (Co-curriculum and Outreach). The post-holder will be required to have flexibility in working hours and duties, in line with organisational needs, as required by a full boarding school.  The post is designated ‘term term plus’ which means that all term time periods must be worked, with an additional 4-5 weeks of working days.

 

1.              Combined Cadet Force duties

 

                To support the SSI in planning, coordinating, and delivering CCF training programs for all cadets

                To assist in the organisation of cadet activities, camps, and exercises

                To maintain accurate, up-to-date records of cadet progress, attendance, and qualifications on Westminster

                To ensure compliance with all CCF policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards

                To provide guidance, mentoring, and support to cadets in their personal development and CCF progression

                In line with the above, to be available to work weekends during term time.

 

2.              Head of Shooting duties

 

                To lead and manage the Marlborough College Rifle Club, including strategy, training, and day-to-day operations

                To plan and facilitate all aspects of shooting instruction for cadets and Rifle Club members

                To manage the 25m indoor shooting range, ensuring safety, compliance, and maintenance

                To organise internal and external shooting competitions, meets, and events

                To maintain accurate shooting records and ensure adherence to all relevant safety and licensing regulations

                To advise on the maintenance, and storage of firearms and associated equipment

                To arrange, co-ordinate and manage Visiting Sports Coaches to ensure the highest level of coaching

 

3.              Overseas Trips

                To contribute to those overseas trips run by the CCF and OA department (this will entail work during the school holidays, most often in early July)

 

Compensation

€35,000 - €50,000 (Pre-Tax)
