THE ACADEMY
GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School catering to students from PreK to Grade 12. Established in 2008 and part of GEMS Education, GWA is authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes. The school holds accreditation from the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE ROLE
Our Business department has made significant strides in enhancing student outcomes and instilling a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. The Business department enjoys a strong reputation among students for its dedication and personalized support.

SKILLS
The perfect candidate will have a proven history of effective teaching and aiding student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes is preferred, we encourage exceptional educators from any curricular background to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values is essential. A sincere enthusiasm for working in a non-selective, culturally diverse environment is also crucial. Additionally, candidates should possess:

A Bachelor of Education degree, or a relevant initial degree accompanied by a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Business
•
Advanced qualifications are desirable but not mandatory
•
A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Business, preferably in an IB curriculum setting, though this is not a requirement
•
Demonstrable experience in teaching Business
•
A solid understanding of the IB MYP & DP frameworks and Approaches to Teaching is advantageous
•
A strong commitment to continuously enhancing their teaching practice and delivering exceptional learning experiences for their students
•
The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
