About This Role

The British International School of Tbilisi (BIST) is eager to welcome passionate and dedicated educators to our vibrant independent school. Currently, BIST serves around 500 students aged 3 to 18, representing over 54 nationalities. Our contemporary, purpose-built campus spans more than 15,000 square meters, beautifully located next to a serene lake on the hills overlooking the city. The cutting-edge facilities are designed to enhance innovative teaching and learning for the 21st century. We deliver a creative and adaptable curriculum that integrates the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum, ultimately leading to Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels at Key Stages 4 & 5. BIST proudly holds accreditation as a Patron's Member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).

We currently have an opening due to the school's expansion and are seeking a qualified Mathematics Teacher to join us in August 2026. Experience in teaching A Level Mathematics is a requirement, while expertise in Further Mathematics would be advantageous but not mandatory.

At BIST, our students and faculty are dedicated to engaging with the broader community through various BIST community initiatives. All teachers are expected to actively contribute to our cross-curricular days and weeks, our diverse range of extracurricular activities, and the PSHE programme. Secondary teachers will teach their subject up to A Level and prepare students for admission to top-tier universities worldwide.

Ideal candidates will possess recent UK or international teaching experience, demonstrate strong motivation, and be well-organized, holding UK qualifications or their internationally recognized equivalents. Familiarity with the opportunities and challenges of living in a rapidly developing country is a plus.

BIST offers a stimulating and supportive work environment, with compensation and benefits that are competitive within the region’s international schools. Our net salary scales exceed those of the UK, supplemented by relocation allowances to and from Georgia, an annual flight allowance, a health and wellness package, and a housing allowance, all while living in a captivating country. We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff, providing an annual CPD allowance. Successful candidates will become part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team in this esteemed school.

To apply, please send a completed BIST application form along with a cover letter by 6th April 2026. We encourage applicants to apply early, as initial interviews may be conducted before the deadline. Application forms and additional information can be requested at recruitment@bist.ge. Formal interviews will take place via Google Meet, and candidates will also have the chance for an informal discussion over Zoom or Skype beforehand.

The British International School of Tbilisi is dedicated to the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions are subject to thorough vetting processes, including checks with previous employers and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check. Our safeguarding and safer recruitment policies are made available to all prospective candidates.
