We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled English Teacher to join our Middle School and High School staff starting in August 2026. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instruct Middle and High School students in English Language and Literature, adhering to IB standards.

• Create and implement dynamic lessons that cultivate skills in reading, writing, speaking, and analysis.

• Encourage a passion for literature and language through inquiry-based learning and creative initiatives.

• Tailor instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and challenge students across all levels.

• Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and modifying teaching strategies as necessary.

• Utilize technology and digital resources to enrich learning experiences, including writing tools and multimedia.

• Actively engage in the school’s extracurricular offerings, such as debate clubs, writing workshops, and literary events.

• Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities in line with the IB philosophy.

• Mentor students, supporting their personal, academic, and social growth.

• Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.

• Ensure teaching practices align with IB inquiry-based learning principles and school values, fostering curiosity and a love for language.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A university degree in English, Literature, or a related discipline, along with a recognized teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching English at the Middle and High School levels, preferably in an international or IB setting.

• Familiarity with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP), as well as inquiry-based language education.

• A demonstrated ability to cultivate a lively and engaging classroom environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking.

• Competence in integrating technology to enhance English instruction through digital tools and interactive platforms.

• Strong communication skills with fluency in English (basic French is a plus).

• A collaborative approach, capable of working effectively with colleagues across various disciplines.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a multicultural context.

• A dedication to professional growth and staying informed of educational best practices.

• A solutions-oriented attitude with a passion for motivating students to explore and appreciate language and literature.

• Willingness to engage in extracurricular activities, such as writing clubs, drama, or literary competitions.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
