About This Role

Open Sky International is seeking a primary school teacher to join our team in Boulogne-Billancourt, located just outside of Paris.

Our school
Open Sky International is a bilingual private institution offering education in both French and English. Established in 2012, our school serves early years and primary students, accommodating learners from the maternelle (early years) through to Terminale (Year 13 in the British system).

Our goal is to deliver an exceptional bilingual education, drawing from the most effective elements of various international curricula and teaching methodologies. We set high expectations for all our students from the very beginning, aiming for a curriculum that is both challenging and engaging. With small class sizes, our pupils are respectful, diligent, and motivated. We proudly serve both French and expatriate families, fostering a vibrant multicultural community. Our dedicated staff members are passionate about education and possess a strong grasp of best practices.

All students follow a bilingual curriculum, with lessons split between French and English. In primary classes, children spend half the week engaged in English literacy, mathematics, science, and art, while the other half is dedicated to learning French, history, and geography with French teachers. Additionally, all primary students participate in weekly lessons in drama, chess, sports, and capoeira.

The role
We are currently seeking a driven, innovative, and dedicated primary teacher to implement our English language curriculum in literacy, mathematics, science, and art. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses experience working with students whose first language is not English, along with a solid understanding of how to effectively teach lessons that enhance their English skills across all subjects.

What kind of teacher are we looking for?
Candidates must hold an appropriate qualification, such as a PGCE or a comparable credential that leads to qualified teacher status. A minimum of five years of teaching experience with the relevant age group is essential. The ideal candidate will be:
• A skilled educator with high standards for all students, dedicated to facilitating their growth and success.
• An inspiring individual who can engage students and has experience in teaching English, mathematics, and science at the primary level, with a solid understanding of the UK primary curriculum.
• Passionate about education, with a strong grasp of best practices.
• Capable of demonstrating comprehensive curriculum knowledge and confidently teaching across all subject areas.
• Supportive of and aligned with the values of the school.
• Open-minded and eager to embrace new cultures and experiences while adapting to life and work abroad.

The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in our after-school programs, with ample opportunities for developing curriculum enrichment activities.

For teachers looking to enhance their French language skills, the school offers private tutoring sessions. As a bilingual institution, all teachers are required to either speak or learn both French and English.

Priority will be given to applicants with the right to work within the European Union.

What does OSI offer?
The position includes a competitive salary, assistance with housing costs, and help in finding accommodation in the Paris region if necessary. School lunches are available for those who wish to partake.
