About This Role

Embark on your teaching career at the prestigious Uppingham Cairo by joining our dynamic Early Career Teacher Development programme.

During your first year at Uppingham Cairo, you will take on the role of a co-teacher in the Junior School, working alongside an experienced Form Teacher who will guide you and provide mentorship as you refine your teaching skills and accumulate invaluable experience. While the Form Teacher leads the class, you will participate in a fully funded Accredited Early Career Teacher Training programme. This initiative is crafted to bolster your confidence and expertise within a supportive setting, enabling you to thrive in your initial teaching phase. With class sizes limited to 12 students, you will have the opportunity to connect intimately with each child in your care.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment during their first year will progress to the position of Junior School Form Teacher in Year 2, taking full charge of their class. You will receive specialized training in subjects such as French, Spanish, PE, Arabic, Music, Swimming, and Drama, allowing you to continue enjoying your teaching journey while being supported to deliver a high-quality educational experience for every student as you complete your induction programme.

As an ECT at Uppingham Cairo, you will enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits designed to enhance both your professional and personal well-being. You will receive a competitive salary package to ensure your financial security. Additional benefits include high-quality accommodation, extensive private healthcare, access to our sports centre, nutritious meals during work hours, and convenient transportation to and from the school during term time—all contributing to a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle for every member of our community. Additionally, families can access full Day Boarder scholarships for up to two dependents at Uppingham Cairo, allowing your children to benefit from the exceptional education offered by a prestigious British Independent School without incurring fees.

To apply, please complete the Uppingham Cairo Application Form and submit it along with a cover letter via email to recruitment26@uppinghamcairo.com. Please avoid applying through online channels, as those applications will not be considered.

Ensure that your application form is filled out completely, including the names and contact details of two professional referees, one of whom should be your current or most recent head teacher (if applicable). While you may include your CV with your application and cover letter, it is optional.

For further information about the position, please consult the Appointment Pack. To learn more about the School, visit our website, review our Prospectus, explore our UPPStart and UPP&Out Day Boarding programmes, or read about our Sporting Vision for both Champions and Challengers.

Please be aware that only candidates with formal British teaching qualifications (QTS) will be considered.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon (UK time) on Monday, 6th April 2026.
Role Start date: 23rd August, 2026.

We encourage early applications, as interviews may occur at any time. The School reserves the right to appoint an outstanding candidate prior to the closing date.
