We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Music to join West Grantham Church of England Secondary Academy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who can bring Music to life in the classroom and inspire pupils of all backgrounds and abilities. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers.

For a suitably experienced candidate, there is also the opportunity to take on Head of Department responsibilities, supported by a TLR2 allowance. This offers the successful candidate the opportunity to help shape the future direction of Music and raise the profile of the subject across the academy.

The successful candidate will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils to develop their skills and confidence in performance, composition, listening and musical appraisal. We are looking for someone who can deliver an engaging and inclusive curriculum, encourage pupils to explore a range of musical styles and traditions, and support them to achieve their potential in examination courses.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to performances, enrichment activities and the wider musical life of the academy.

About our academy

West Grantham Church of England Secondary Academy was judged Good with Outstanding features at its January 2024 inspection. The school was described as an “oasis of trust and calm”, with “exemplary behaviour”. The inspection also recognised the academy as “welcoming and truly inclusive”, with ambition at the heart of its work.

Due to increasing pupil numbers, we are expanding our teaching team. We are looking for someone with a strong moral purpose who wants to make a genuine difference to young people through excellent teaching, high expectations and strong pastoral care.
