Job Title
We are looking for a passionate educator to deliver outstanding History instruction across Key Stages 3–5 within a British curriculum setting. This role focuses on fostering critical thinking, historical inquiry, and achieving high academic standards. The ideal candidate will actively participate in the academic, pastoral, and extracurricular dimensions of school life while upholding exemplary standards in teaching, learning, and student development.
Key Responsibilities
•
Develop, prepare, and present engaging and challenging History lessons that are in line with the curriculum.
•
Design schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment methods that cater to differentiated learning needs and support the success of all students.
•
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely feedback and implementing necessary interventions.
•
Promote historical inquiry, analytical skills, and research competencies through a variety of innovative teaching approaches.
•
Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment that encourages student well-being and active engagement.
•
Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment programs, educational excursions, and school-wide projects.
•
Perform pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor, guiding students in their academic and personal development.
•
Work collaboratively with colleagues, phase leaders, and senior management to ensure the effective implementation of the British curriculum.
•
Communicate professionally with parents regarding their children's progress, accomplishments, and behavior.
•
Comply with school policies, safeguarding measures, and KHDA regulations.
Qualifications
•
A Bachelor’s degree in History (or a related discipline) along with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE or equivalent).
•
Proven experience teaching History following the British curriculum (Key Stages 3–5).
•
Experience in the UAE or in an international school setting is preferred.
•
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
•
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
