At Nun Academy, we foster teamwork, creativity, and growth, creating a distinctive learning community. We are in search of an exceptional Teacher of Computer Science and Business Studies to become part of our expanding Boys’ Secondary & Senior School.

Key Responsibilities


Craft and deliver engaging lessons in Computer Science and Business Studies (KS3–KS4; KS5 including IB DP), aligned with the Cambridge/UK and IB DP curricula.


Develop students’ computational thinking and technical skills in areas such as programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, networks, cybersecurity, and software development (e.g., Python/Java/JavaScript; HTML/CSS; SQL).


Foster robust business knowledge among students, covering subjects like enterprise, marketing, finance, operations, business strategy, and global economics.


Effectively utilize assessments to inform teaching and interventions, offering timely and constructive feedback to students and their families.


Lead or assist in co-curricular activities (coding clubs, robotics, enterprise challenges, investment clubs, competitions, and innovation events).


Contribute to school initiatives focusing on digital wellbeing, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.


Ensure adherence to best practices in safeguarding, inclusion, digital citizenship, and health & safety within classrooms and labs.


Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum mapping, progression pathways, data analysis, and enrichment opportunities.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computing/Software Engineering (or a related field) alongside a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE/QTS or international equivalent).


Demonstrated teaching experience with the Cambridge and/or UK curriculum; proven success at IGCSE/GCSE level. Experience teaching IB DP or A-Level Computer Science and/or Business Studies is highly preferred.


Strong classroom management abilities with inclusive strategies for multilingual learners; proficient use of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Google/Microsoft, Git/GitHub Classroom, coding environments, basic cloud/VMs).


Experience with robotics/physical computing (Micro:bit/Arduino/Raspberry Pi) and/or cybersecurity is highly valued.


Exhibit a growth mindset, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and responsible technology use.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
