About This Role

We are looking for a hard working and friendly Premises Assistant to provide flexible, outstanding customer care and caretaking for third party use of the school’s facilities at weekends. If you take pride in problem-solving, hands-on work, and creating a positive environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Site Premises Assistant to help keep our school safe, welcoming and well presented.

This is an excellent opportunity for a young person looking to start a career in site management, facilities or estates work. Full training will be provided, so previous school premises or maintenance experience is not essential.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Opening and locking the school site and buildings.
  • Carrying out regular security checks around the school.
  • Painting and decorating classrooms, corridors and other school areas.
  • Helping to keep the site clean, tidy and welcoming.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to the Site Team.
  • Supporting the smooth running of school events and activities.
  • Working safely and following health and safety procedures at all times.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
  • Takes pride in their work and likes practical, hands-on tasks.
  • Is willing to learn new skills and undertake training.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Has a positive attitude and is happy to help others.
  • Is physically able to carry out decorating and light site duties.

Experience

No previous DIY, maintenance or school premises experience is required. Training and support will be provided. We welcome applications from school leavers, college leavers and anyone looking to begin a career in facilities and site management.
