SISB Thonburi Secondary-Sixth Form - Chinese Teacher

Singapore International School Thonburi provides an extensive Singapore-style curriculum, dedicated to achieving high academic standards. We are seeking a versatile and experienced Secondary Chinese teacher to teach both Foreign Language (Mandarin) and First Language Chinese for students in Years 7 to 12.

Key responsibilities:

Create and deliver captivating lessons for FL Mandarin and First Language Chinese that meet curriculum standards.

•
Adapt teaching methods to suit mixed-ability classrooms.

•
Assess, track, and report on student progress; prepare students for internal and external examinations.

•
Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development, resource creation, and extracurricular activities.

•
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff while actively engaging in the school community.

Requirements:

•
Bachelor's degree in Chinese, Education, or a related field; a PGCE, PGDE, or teaching certification is highly preferred.

•
Qualified teacher status or an equivalent qualification; previous experience in international education is a plus.

•
Demonstrated ability to teach both Mandarin as a foreign language and First Language Chinese.

•
Strong skills in classroom management, lesson design, and assessment, with the ability to customize learning experiences.

•
Excellent command of English; native or near-native proficiency in Chinese.
