We are currently seeking applications from experienced SENCO Teachers for positions starting in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons that ignite curiosity, promote critical thinking, and foster a love for learning.
• Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that recognizes individual strengths and embraces diverse learning preferences.
• Modify instructional approaches to meet the diverse needs of all students, including EAL learners, gifted individuals, and those requiring additional support.
• Integrate technology and innovative methods to enrich students' learning experiences and engagement.
• Accurately assess, document, and communicate student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and tailored support.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and refine curriculum plans, materials, and assessments aligned with the IB framework.
• Participate actively in the broader school community through co-curricular activities, events, and community outreach efforts.
• Establish strong connections with parents and the wider community to enhance student growth and wellbeing.
• Engage in continuous professional development and self-reflection to enhance teaching effectiveness.
• Exemplify the values of GEMS and the IB Learner Profile in all school-related endeavors.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A recognized professional teaching qualification at the degree level, such as a B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent degree in SEN/Inclusion.
• At least 3 years of significant and demonstrable experience in teaching Secondary SENCO, ideally within an IB Curriculum environment (though this is not essential).
• Experience with MYP and DP teaching is preferred but not required.
• A genuine enthusiasm for motivating young learners through innovative, inquiry-based instructional methods.
• The vision, enthusiasm, dedication, and educational philosophy necessary to contribute to the continuous success of a leading GEMS school with a diverse international student population.
• A strong desire for professional growth within a collaborative and forward-thinking community.

Candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted for an interview. Interviews are scheduled for April 2026 and will take place both in person and online for positions commencing in August 2026.
